Piano - guitar - ukulele - bass - drums - banjo - violin - viola - cello

adaptive - interdisciplinary - gentle

Ray specializes in tailoring the learning process to each student, while making sure they achieve their goals in a non-stressful environment. While he encourages an eclectic approach to learning music, Ray places an emphasis on making sure the ergonomic aspects of the instrument are taken into consideration in order to prevent strain and injury and to preserve the love of performing for many years to come.

Ray has received formal education through music theory courses and private instrument instructors, but as a continual autodidact, Ray is constantly expanding his skillset. His teaching style and adaptability is a result of being able to take the effective elements from previous instruction and blend it with the experiences he has had being a performing and recording musician.

Ray has been teaching since 2011, previously working through music shops and private instruction. He has worked with students as young as 5 and as old as 75. He is currently in a local rock band, Quick Chills, that plays in the Philadelphia area and he has previously performed in the Scranton area and the New York City area.

Ray is currently accepting new students at the Carriage House studio.

Ray is so gentle and patient, which has supported my child’s age and learning style. I appreciate that Ray cares about the overall experience, offering space to ask questions and be curious about interests. It means a lot to me as a parent to see my child’s independence growing in a safe environment with Ray
